There were only two books in the series, and they were amongst
the least successful of all Enid's novels. The Four are twelve-year-old Tom, his twin sisters Mary and Jill, and Andy, a local
fisher boy, fourteen years old and therefore leader. The stories take place in a Scottish fishing village and the first
book has a wartime theme - one of the few examples anywhere of references to war in Enid Blyton's books.
